We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software for IoT devices and their workloads. Additionally, they will collaborate with the CTO and other engineers to expand the product portfolio and feature set.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and maintain software for IoT devices and their workloads.
- Collaborate with the CTO and other engineers to expand the product portfolio and feature set.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to junior engineers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in IoT and remote device orchestration.
- 6+ years of experience working as a software engineer.
- 3+ years of experience working in Python.
- Strong understanding of containerization using Docker.
- Proven experience in working with REST/HTTP APIs and gRPC-based APIs.
- Strong understanding of asynchronous programming.
- Broad knowledge of databases, queues, consensus, and distributed locking systems.
- Ability to design and benchmark larger software architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; OR significant industry experience to compensate.
- Significant experience working with Linux on a low level.
- Experience working with IoT-specific services and protocols (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M).
- Experience working with the Linux kernel.
- Knowledge of networking concepts and how the internet works.
- Knowledge of deployment-related technologies such as Kubernetes, Terraform.
