What you need to have to succeed in this role

  • At least +8 years of experience in Software Engineering
  • Strong technical expertise in Scala and Spark
  • Big data technologies is essential with Devops and Cloud skills considered as secondary but valuable
  • Previous cloud experience (GCP) 
  • End to end systems architecture knowledge
  • Knowledge of technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable
  • Experience as a lead is preferred but not mandatory

Enterprise Technology brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti- money laundering, transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. 

The Global Social Network Analytics (GSNA) platform uses Big Data technology together with AI and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to identify potential financial crime risks that enable a global network of Investigators, Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations.  

This role is based at our Global Technology Center in Krakow. We are a young, fun and relaxed team of over 150 people closely following Agile Scrum framework with Scrum teams based in Poland, China and the UK. We run 2-week sprints with 6-week release cycles.
