Přehled

Analytical chemistry integrates chemical disciplines, physics, biology, information theory, and technical fields. It provides information on the identity, structure, and quantity of components in natural and man-made objects and their distribution. It collaborates with other natural sciences to explore the relationships between chemical composition and properties of substances. This multidisciplinary field emphasizes teamwork. It requires knowledge of general and physical chemistry, physics, mathematics, inorganic and organic chemistry, biochemistry, and modern analytical methods.

Detailed description of the programme

Offer of dissertation topics:

  • Comprehensive analysis of anti-infective agents within biological systems (doctoral study programme DSP II)

Profile of the graduate

Graduates of the doctoral program "Analytical Chemistry" gain advanced theoretical and practical experience in the field of chemical and instrumental methods of analysis, chemometry and knowledge to ensure the quality of analytical results, method validation and accreditation of analytical laboratories. Graduates of the program asset themselves in a wide range of the development, optimization and verification of new procedures of analytical practice management and analysis necessary in research, industrial and agricultural production and protection of environment and human health in research institutes, health, pharmaceutical and food companies, labor and life control laboratories environment, clinical and toxicology laboratories. Graduates of the program are among the most sought after and most adaptable researchers in terms of their future practical application.

Application submission

The application is submitted electronically through the Charles University study information system. The completed application must be submitted electronically in the study information system no later than on for study programmes starting in the winter semester (October) and no later than on for study programmes starting in the summer semester (April).

The admission fee is 100 EUR and it is paid for each submitted application.

Required application appendice is the agreement of a supervisor in the format of the following form available here. We recommend reaching out to the supervisor as soon as possible (ideally before for study programmes starting in the winter semester and before for study programmes starting in the summer semester), so the application could be send out in time in case the agreement is granted.
