The Data Platform Engineer plays a key role in delivering the standardized Lakehouse foundation and managed Databricks (DBX) services for business units through the NNDAP L1 Migration and Data Lab initiatives. This role focuses on building scalable platform modules, automating configurations, and enforcing governance across data environments. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable operations, lineage tracking, and secure data sharing.

YOUR ROLE

• Develop and ship platform modules for data extraction, ingestion, quality assurance, and sharing.
• Automate tenant and use-case configurations for Data Lab, enforcing platform baselines.
• Implement data lineage and access policies using Unity Catalog and Collibra.
• Support business unit migrations aligned with NNDAP L1 patterns.
• Operate and monitor the Data Lab service with defined SLOs and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure platform scalability, reliability, and governance.
• Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to manage platform infrastructure.
• Contribute to platform product development with a mindset focused on reusability and standardization.

YOUR PROFILE

• Solid experience in data platform engineering, with hands-on knowledge of Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Familiarity with Unity Catalog and Collibra for data governance and lineage.
• Strong understanding of IaC tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
• Experience operating managed data services with service-level objectives.
• Product-oriented mindset with a focus on modular, reusable platform components.
• Bonus: Experience with Delta Live Tables and FinOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across diverse teams.
