Logistics Specialist with French

Logistics Specialists manage logistics activities, meet business fulfillment requirements, and support transportation cost reduction. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects, and services as well as providing logistics support, consulting, and obtaining the best possible transportation rates.Requirements:Bachelor's or equivalent college degree – focus on Logistics preferredInternational logistics experience required: transportation, customs, supply chain principles, geographical concerns, political nuances of economic zonesKnowledge of the English and French language on an advanced level is a mustAbility to multitask and prioritizeProblem-solving and communication skillsPlanning and organizational skillsResponsibilities:Coordinate the routing process using contract rates or obtaining spot quotesAccurately issue shipping documentation such as certificates of origin, customs invoices, and packing listsCommunication with freight forwarders, shippers, consignees, clients, and internal communication within the teamContracting External Logistics Service Providers for route & port surveysMonitoring and tracking the shipments and keeping clients informed about the statusParticipate in team meetings, conference calls, and project management calls with the Allyn team and with the clientActively look to capture savings opportunities and added value opportunities when possibleActively use either Allyn Logistics Application (ALA) or other required systemsTransport regulations compliance management, including permitting, over-dimensional and hazardous cargoTrack and resolve freight claimsProvide excellent customer service to Allyn customersTraining of new employees and clients if needed
