Insights Security Intern

The Red Hat Insights Security team is looking for an intern with some experience in Python to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work with a group of talented software engineers and contributors across the globe. You'll work on new features and address existing defects and bugs in an assigned project. You'll also expand, automate, and streamline our build and release pipeline using modern technologies like containerization and microservices. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about Red Hat's business and the open source culture.

Red Hat's Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.

What you will do

• Design, implement and deliver new features

• Technical project contribution by fixing defects, reviewing pull requests, and writing unit / integration test cases

• Collaborate with a globally distributed development team

• Demo the developed features with all stakeholders

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor's 3rd/4th year or Master's) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years

• Working knowledge of written and spoken English

• Experience programming in Python

• Experience programming in Linux

• Familiarity with continuous integration (CI) infrastructure

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
