Vulnerability Management Intern

The Red Hat Information Technology team is looking for an Intern to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will join the smart, skilled and dedicated people that make up Red Hat's Global Information Risk and Security team. This long-term internship provides a unique opportunity.  You will be trusted to see how cybersecurity is practiced in a major global enterprise.  Your information security and operations knowledge will be drawn on to meet the challenges of ensuring Red Hat operates in a secure way.

Red Hat's Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.

What you will do

• Assist team members with daily operations, finding vulnerable systems and helping owners to patch their exposure.

• Research ways to maximize the value of tooling and infrastructure, suggesting and implementing improvements.

• Revise and build knowledge bases that support remediation owners and team operations.

What you will bring:

• You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor's 3rd/4th year or Master's) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.

• Working knowledge of written and spoken English

• Knowledge of basic Information Security concepts. 

• Practical experience with Linux system administration would be a plus

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn a scripting language to automate solutions (eg Bash or Ansible or Python).

• Desire to work effectively with a global team using Slack, email, documentation systems and video conferencing.
