Job Description

At DEVIX Technologies, we are looking for an experienced Python Backend Engineer to join our team and help modernize the backend of a large-scale fintech platform. Our client operates a financial ecosystem offering deferred payments and a proprietary payment gateway for e-commerce. The existing Python monolith has been migrated to AWS but now requires refactoring and transformation into a set of efficient, scalable microservices.

You will collaborate closely with DEVIX engineers and the client's internal team to design, implement, and optimize new backend services built for performance, maintainability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Refactor and modularize an existing Python monolith into distributed microservices.
  • Design and maintain clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.
  • Integrate and optimize cloud services within the AWS ecosystem.
  • Translate business requirements into reliable, scalable backend solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, analytics, and architecture teams in an agile environment.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and participate in code reviews.
  • Ensure system stability, observability, and efficient operations in production.
What We Expect
  • 4+ years of professional backend experience with Python.
  • Solid understanding of Django or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL).
  • Knowledge of clean coding principles (SOLID, DRY, YAGNI).
  • Background in fintech or experience with payment systems is a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable working independently within distributed teams.
  • Fluent in English (Czech or Polish is a plus).
