Bookbot is the largest re-commerce bookstore in the Czech Republic, with over 10 million sold books. Every day, we send 25,000 books to new homes. We operate across 9 markets (CZ, SK, AT, DE, ES, IT, FR, NL, BE) and deliver to 40 countries worldwide. Our warehouse is the 3rd largest second-hand book facility in the world, and we are the 16th fastest-growing tech startup in the CEE region.

We're looking for an HR Business Partner for the commercial part of the business. You'll be the go-to partner for leaders and employees, combining strategic advice with hands-on delivery.

What will you do

  • Partners with office teams (Marketing, Product, IT, Data, Finance, Expansion, Customer Care).

  • Help build an environment in which people can perform at their best and attract top talent. You understand that merely asking people if they are happy will not achieve 100 % yearly growth.

  • Be a go-to partner to around 80 people in 5 countries.

  • Run onboarding, offboarding, performance review processes, L&D, Com&Ben, and workforce planning.

  • Hiring.

  • Advice on labor law and employee relations.

  • Use data insights to drive improvements and lead HR projects.

Tech stack

  • Make / Zapier, Notion, Slack, Recruitis, Giriton, Signi, Google Workspace, Power BI

  • Yes, we like technologies in HR and we use it more than average but still not enough.

About you

  • You are in alignment with our core values, read them before you decide to apply.

  • 3+ years in internal HR, preferably HRBP / Generalist role in a fast growing and/or a super successful company.

  • Solid knowledge of Czech labor law

  • Data-driven, pragmatic, and approachable

  • You learn quickly. You are capable of thinking analytically.

  • You also work quickly and know how to prioritize. You recognize when a task requires a great deal of time and when a quicker solution will suffice.

  • Fluent in English (B2 is a minimum), Czech C2

  • You are not looking for hybrid/remote collaboration. You understand that, to have an impact and work quickly, you need to be in the office where the business is happening.
