Lead AI Applications Developer

We are looking for a hands-on Lead AI Applications Developer to drive the design and delivery of advanced AI solutions across NN's enterprise IT landscape. This leadership role includes full line management of a team of senior tech professionals, including solution architects. You will ensure that AI applications are built to scale, reusable across markets, and aligned with enterprise technology standards. The position reports directly to the Head of the Data Science Hub and involves close collaboration with regional business units. It offers a unique opportunity to shape how AI becomes an integral part of NN's digital ecosystem.

By fostering engineering excellence and guiding your team, you'll accelerate the adoption of AI in real-world workflows and services. Your focus on reusable components and modern development practices will help standardize how AI is built and deployed across the organization. Through mentoring and strategic alignment, you'll strengthen the team's capabilities and ensure delivery quality. Your work will directly influence how AI transforms decision-making, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Architecture

• Define and document solution architectures for AI applications.
• Architect services integrating AI into enterprise systems and digital channels.
• Build orchestration layers for AI agents and package reusable components.

Build & Development

• Lead full-stack development of AI/LLM-enabled applications.
• Implement CI/CD, automated testing and DevSecOps practices.
• Apply MLOps/LLMOps for monitoring, observability and continuous improvement.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Line-manage and mentor a team of 7–10 senior tech professionals.
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists and product managers to deliver production-grade AI solutions.
• Ensure best practices in code quality, security and documentation.

What we expect from you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years working with AI/ML/LLM applications.
• Proven ability to integrate AI solutions into complex enterprise IT environments, ideally within regulated industries (e.g. financial services, insurance, banking, TMT).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, .NET, or TypeScript, with hands-on experience in backend and/or frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, , REST/GraphQL, SQL/NoSQL).

• Familiarity with modern AI engineering platforms and tools is highly valued, including:

• Databricks (Mosaic AI, Delta Lake, MLflow)

• Microsoft Azure (Azure ML, Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI Service)
• Kubernetes & Docker for scalable AI/LLM deployment
• MLOps/LLMOps toolchains (CI/CD, monitoring, model versioning, observability)
• Advanced English proficiency required for working in an international environment.

What is hiring process with us like

If the initial conversation goes well, you'll be invited to two interview rounds. The first round will ideally take place in person at our Prague office (or online) with Adrian (Head of the Data Science Hub/Hiring Manager) and Veronika. In the second round, you'll meet several members of the team you may soon be joining.
