The Dean of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University announce the competitive hiring procedure for the position of:

the Head of the Institute for Medical Humanities, First Faculty of Medicine,

and, at the same time for candidates for the said post, also for the position of the Professor or Associate Professor with the focus on Medical Humanities.

Presumed date of appointment: 1st April 2025.

Qualifications required:

University education (medical or non-medical) and the postgraduate Ph.D. degree in a relevant field

(for example ethics, psychology, philosophy, theology, law), scientific educational degree of titul Professor or Associate Professor, experience in the specialty not less than 10 years, experience in education not less than 5 years, previous publishing activity is an advantage, managerial and communicative skills, makings for leadership in a professional and scientific team in the given field, active command of English language, no criminal records.

Written applications signed in own hand, with the professional CV, proofs of education, qualifications and practical experience, list of publications, criminal conviction certificate (not older than 3 mths), concept of development of the unit enclosed, or possibly the consent to making the personal data public, shall be collected by the Personnel Department of Charles University – the First Faculty of Medicine at Kateřinská 32, post code 121 08, Praha 2 via the Faculty filing room by 21st November 2025. The candidate can be invited to present a public lecture.

In substantiated cases, the interview can be performed through information and communication technologies at the candidate's request. The grounds of such a request will be judged by and decided on by the chairperson of the Board.
