ICC (Internal Controls & Compliance) Intern in GBS Finance

Merck Sharp & Dohme's (MSD) Business Service Center (BSC), located across three regions (Americas, Europe, and Asia), are responsible for the timely and efficient delivery of standardized, global financial processes. The BSC – Europe in Prague, Czech Republic will be responsible for the execution and delivery of a broad range of financial services and processes across MSD business divisions and markets for the Europe region.

As Intern within Internal Control & Compliance team you will be primarily responsible for support the external & internal audits for the finance streams Account to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Settle or Master Data. You will be onboarded & will work according to instructions received from senior ICC team members.

Additionally, as Intern you might be exposed twice a year to internal controls testing and you can be allocated with your own testing scope following the audit standards & instructions received from senior ICC team members. You will execute & test the assurance over controls structure to respective finance streams executed by BSC Prague in Czech Republic.

During your internship within ICC team, you will get familiar with our company ERP system (SAP), end-to-end finance processes, risk assessment, internal controls set-up, audit methodology & automations.

You key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

·    Support Internal & External Auditor for SOX and statutory audits and document compilation.

·    Collaborate with senior members of the team & contribute to the execution of the CSA (self-assessment of internal controls) in either the AtR, OtC, StS, MDM workstream periodically

What we expect you gonna be:

·    Student, ideally in Accounting or Finance, Business-level English language skills (speaking and writing) required

·    Works effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of professionalism.

·    Strong ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

·    Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.

·    Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required

·    Previous exposure to automations would be welcomed as the team focuses on automations, thus you can increase you knowledge in this area

·    Problem solving and analytical skills with a proactive attitude to implement new processes.

·    Team player with a focus on collaboration"
