Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAs a Disaster Recovery Test Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of disaster recovery testing within an organization. Your main objective will be to ensure that the organization's disaster recovery plans are effective and can be executed seamlessly in the event of a disaster or disruptive event. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery tests, ensuring that all systems and processes are thoroughly tested and validated and to coordinate preparation of DR Tests Reports and outputs.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with various teams including IT, operations, security, and business units to identify critical systems, applications, and data that need to be included in the disaster recovery testing.
• Coordinate and facilitate regular disaster recovery testing exercises to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization's disaster recovery plans.
• Define and document test scenarios, scripts, and procedures to be followed during disaster recovery tests.
• Work closely with DR Solution Architects and other IT technical teams to ensure that all necessary infrastructure, systems, and applications are set up and ready for testing.
• Coordinate with external vendors or third-party service providers to ensure their involvement and adherence to disaster recovery testing plans.
• Monitor and track the progress of disaster recovery tests, identifying and resolving any issues or obstacles that may arise.
• Document and report test results, including any gaps or areas for improvement in the disaster recovery plans.
• Conduct post-test analysis and evaluations to identify lessons learned and recommendations for enhancing the organization's disaster recovery capabilities.
• Stay updated with the latest industry best practices, trends, and technologies related to disaster recovery testing.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (2 years) in disaster recovery planning, testing, and coordination.
• Strong understanding of disaster recovery concepts, methodologies, and industry best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant technologies, systems, and tools used in disaster recovery testing like SNOW/BCM is a plus
• Excellent project management and coordination skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues during disaster recovery testing
• Certification in disaster recovery planning (e.g., Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Disaster Recovery Certified Professional (DRCP)) is a plus.
