Senior Accountant, R2R EMEA R2R TEAM - GBS CESKE BUDEJOVICE Senior Manager, Record-to-Report Operations
Primary Purpose Summary
Responsible for the cost & time effective operation and high performance of the accounting and financial reporting processes within the GBS
in line with SLAs and key objectives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, R2R Opearations and supporting him/her with the standardisation,
automation and integration of accounting activities.
Tasks/Duties/Key Responsibilities
§ Take the ownership of assigned R2R processes, tools and
projects (e.g. SmartClose, SAP)
§ Take technical responsibility on delivering on time and high-
quality accounting services by the R2R team
§ Provide technical/operational training to the team as
required
§ Support and supervise transfer of accounting activities to the
GBS
§ Manage and participate in internal projects
§ Build relationships with key points of contact across the
processes and other functions both within the GBS, wider
organization and externally to maintain an understanding of
the process context and deadlines
§ Identify problem areas in the process and collaborate to find
solutions
§ Independently participate in solving the operational,
technical and system issues as required
§ Clear understanding of complex internal policies and
procedures to guide the teams
§ Responsibility to meet the deadlines and escalate to Senior
Manager, R2R Operations when necessary
§ Supervise R2R cut-off times via SmartClose
§ Supporting internal audits / SOX controls
§ Closely cooperate with Senior Manager, R2R Operations and R2R Supervisors to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes § Participate actively in R2R team governance, at operational level § Assist in managing resource allocation in the R2R team to ensure efficient/effective resource utilization § Assist the HR team and Senior Manager, R2R Operations in setting performance measurement procedures for R2R employees § Analyze and review team members performance against monthly targets (e.g. KPIs for SmartClose) § Participate in the recruitment process for the team
Education Experience
§ Minimum of Accounting/Finance/Economics University
Degree § 5+ years of accounting experience
Skills/Abilities – MUST HAVES Other requirements - ADVANTAGES
Experience with an ERP system
Experience with team management
Proficient user of MS Office, specifically Excel (e.g. Pivot
tables, V-Lookups)
Prepared to travel during activity transfer and migrations
Strong communication skills and proactive approach in issue
resolution
- Excellent problem-solving skills (critical thinking, decision
making)
Strong organization & planning skills
Ability to find ways to make the processes more effective
Ability to lead projects
English B2+
· Full-time position · Other master's degree or qualification · Second language (German, French, Italian, Spanish) · Knowledge of: - SAP FICO - US GAAP - SOX controls - Payroll Accounting - Blackline tool - Consolidation reporting tool (e.g. BPC) - BI or any other reporting tool · Corporate / international company exposure · Experience in shared services environment · Process improvement · Project Management · Change management
