First things first: you want to know what you're actually applying for. It's impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distill it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:

Are you a tax professional ready to move from advisory to ownership? Join Mews, a global hospitality tech company reshaping how the world connects with travel.

As a Tax Specialist in our central finance team, you'll work across multiple countries and entities, taking full responsibility for accurate, timely tax and statutory compliance. This isn't narrow local compliance work — you'll gain genuine international exposure, collaborate with top-tier advisors, and help build scalable processes for a fast-growing global business.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

• Manage VAT and Corporate Income Tax (CIT) compliance across several jurisdictions.
• Coordinate and review statutory filings with local tax advisors.
• Prepare Czech VAT and CIT returns and other ad hoc statutory reports.
• Support Transfer Pricing documentation and ensure alignment across entities.
• Contribute to cross-border tax projects, including acquisitions and restructuring.
• Drive process improvements and documentation accuracy.

You'll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:

• Higher Education preferably in Economics/Finance/Taxation
• 3+ years of experience in Tax
• Fluency in English
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Local or international tax certification is a plus
• Knowledge of general tax principles (VAT, CIT, WHT, Transfer Pricing, etc.)
• Ability to apply general tax principles in various foreign tax jurisdictions in cooperation with local tax advisors
• Knowledge of International Taxation and Transfer Pricing principles
• Understanding of general accounting principles (CZ GAAP), other local GAAP and/or IFRS knowledge is a plus
• Great communication skills and proactive approach in issue resolution
• Excellent problem-solving skills (critical thinking, decision making)
