Junior System Engineer – Storage

We're on the lookout for a motivated Junior System Engineer who's keen to grow their career in IT. If you're passionate about Linux, curious about backups, and excited to be part of a collaborative team, this could be your next step.

What you'll be doing

As our new Junior System Engineer, you'll focus on keeping our Linux environment running smoothly while making sure our backup solutions are rock-solid. You'll learn, get your hands dirty, and play an important role in safeguarding critical systems and data.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Administering and maintaining Linux systems (mainly Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting OS and related applications
• Monitoring performance, patching, and upgrading systems
• Managing and optimising Veritas backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability
• Running backup and restore tests to keep us disaster-ready
• Collaborating with teammates on system improvements
• Responding to alerts and resolving incidents quickly
• Documenting configs, fixes, and procedures
• Keeping an eye on industry trends in Linux and security

What we're looking for

• Solid understanding of Linux (ideally RHEL)
• Any experience with scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) is a plus
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
• Team player with good communication skills
• Willingness to learn and grow
• Previous IT support or sysadmin experience is nice to have, but not required
• Strong Czech/Slovak and English
