Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is building a next-generation cloud platform that supports the most demanding mission-critical customer requirements, operating globally to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.
Our mission is to provide our customers with the best-in-class computing, storage, networking, database, security, and an ever-expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.
OCI Media Services
As a Principal Technical Program Management in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will be leading us through planning and designing technical solutions in order to develop, deliver and operate cloud services that will enable animation, film, and game development studios to migrate their entire production pipeline to the cloud. The position relies heavily on influence rather than authority to drive projects.
The team is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of a new set of cloud services focused specifically on the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high-performance storage, render farm as a service, license management, and production pipeline management services.
This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend the reach of OCI to address greenfield opportunities in the media and entertainment industry. You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world-class cloud development environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in leading technical software projects/programs.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Excellent technical knowledge and experience with overall software development process models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
- Strong analytical, planning, and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle competing demands.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience interacting with both business and engineering staff at all levels including the executive level.
- Experience with technical design discussions and the ability to summarize complex trade-offs and options.
Nice-to-have Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in building highly available, high-traffic, distributed services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Familiarity with concepts such as availability, observability, scalability, testability, recoverability, etc.
- Good understanding of developing customer-facing microservice-based architectures, tiered architectures, including virtualization, containerization, and REST API interfaces.
- Previous experience in utilizing public cloud services from the current major providers (such as Oracle, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) in developing complex software products.
- Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production – digital asset management and namespaces, familiarity with 3d frameworks, universal scene description, scene graphs, layers and models, 3d data packaging, rendering workflows, image composition, tools used in the workflow by artists, engineers, editors, and content creators is a plus.
