Thousands of engineers globally are shaping this platform, and our Prague tech hub is a key part of that effort. But we don't just keep the engine running—we push the tech boundaries of what's possible, alongside teams from Lisbon, London, and New York. Here in Prague, we have teams specializing in frontend development (including mobile, TV, and web), backend development (Java), DevOps & Platform Engineering, AWS, and data science.

What is the plot?

Join our Prague-based Identity team and help solve global-scale challenges in authentication and digital identity. Every time a customer logs in to one of our streaming services, your work will be at the forefront.

As part of the Identity team, you'll be responsible for managing customer account data and orchestrating authentication and authorization flows for millions of users and partners worldwide. This means building resilient, scalable systems that are at the heart of user access.

What role will you play?

As a senior software engineer, you'll take the lead in designing and developing backend services in Java and Scala, deployed on Kubernetes in a public cloud environment. You'll drive technical excellence, lead key projects, and mentor fellow engineers.

Your daily tasks

• Analyse complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for new or redesigned software components.

• Design, implement, test, and support solutions using industry best practices – especially in identity management and digital session handling.

• Ensure solutions meet high standards of quality, security, and compliance, particularly in complex areas involving interweaving services at scales uncommon outside of big tech.

• Demonstrate flexibility and resilience by thriving in an evolving environment and being receptive to learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.

• Quickly adapt to changes, adjusting work in a positive manner to maintain project timelines and objectives.

• Mentor team members in Java and related technologies, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

What skills do you need to play your role well?

• Strong Java expertise, with experience in technologies such as Kafka, Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, Elasticsearch, NoSQL databases (e.g. DynamoDB), Groovy, Scala, and Docker.

• Proven experience designing, developing and deploying RESTful APIs end-to-end.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field would be preferred.

• Hands on experience with agile and iterative software development methodologies.

• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and locations.

• Being self-driven, curious, and committed to staying up to date with the latest technologies and best practices.

• Ability to quickly adapt to changes, adjusting work in a positive manner to maintain project timelines and objectives.

• Fluent English.
