General Ledger Accountant - summary:

The General Ledger (GL) Accountant is one of the key roles within the Financial Accounting team responsible for delivering month-end accounting entries that impacts Balance Sheets and P&L. This position plays a critical part in the company's month-end close process resulting in complete and accurate financial statements. The GL Accountant is responsible for preparation and completion journal entries, analysis and accuracy of BS reconciliations, solving other relevant accounting issues in compliance with local legislation, US GAAP standards, and the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX).

What will you be doing?

• Preparation, review and posting complex journal entries for company accounts, ensuring information is accurate and up to date
• Reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts to general ledger; researching discrepancies and determining appropriate course of action.
• Developing spreadsheets for account analysis and journal entries to keep records organized and standardized.
• Coordinating, preparing, consolidating, submitting, and distributing monthly internal financial reports to provide management with various information on financial accounts.
• Educating internal clients on more complex accounting principles when necessary.
• Assist with standardization, automation, simplification of processes to improve the organization's accounting operation.
• Assist with Installing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
• You may provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced colleagues.
• Participating in diverse projects to provide an expertise.

Are you the right person for this role?

Apply if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, and related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4+ years of accounting or finance experience
• Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a collaborative environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP R3 FI/CO, SAP S/4HANA, BW is desirable. MS Office skills, advanced level in MS Excel
• Ability to set priorities and work under time pressure with can-do attitude.
• Willing to develop a career path within Finance/Accounting area.
