Job Description

We are seeking an SQL Developer with ETL experience to join our Animal Health IT Intelligent Automation & Enterprise Data team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective additions to our ETL, primarily focusing on the Aera platform to create Decision Intelligence capabilities for the Animal Health Enterprise. This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

Key Responsibilities

Database Development

  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries.
  • Develop ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it according to business requirements, and load it into target databases.
  • Maintain existing ETL processes, ensuring they remain functional after changes in the source datasets.
  • Work with large datasets and manage data migrations between systems.

Data Integration

  • Integrate data from multiple sources into our data warehouse, including relational databases, flat files, and external APIs.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and integration with data warehouses and business intelligence tools.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for database and ETL-related issues.

Documentation

  • Document database designs, ETL processes, and data integration workflows, in accordance with GxP regulations.
  • Understands good coding practices, especially related to code legibility and understandability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and architectures, data modelling, and database design
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database and ETL-related issues efficiently.
  • Experience with developing software in a highly regulated environment is a plus.
  • Data Analytics, SQL Developer with ERP Knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with developing database solutions using SQL.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes for large-scale data systems.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools and reporting systems (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Aera).
