Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities as Head of Software Development will include:

1. Defining and executing the Engineering Roadmap to ensure technical excellence across all aspects of software development, with a focus on long-term goals like scalability, maintainability, and performance of both systems and the team.

2. Working with senior leadership to define and measure key metrics for engineering excellence, including code quality, system uptime, technical debt reduction, and team satisfaction levels.

3. Leading, mentoring, and managing a group of Engineering Leaders, providing guidance, coaching, and career development opportunities to help them grow in their roles.

4. Fostering a culture based on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement towards a healthy balance between delivery focus and technical excellence best practices and high-quality standards.

5. Building and managing cross-functional relationships with other departments, such as product management, operations, and design, to ensure alignment on technical vision and goals.

6. Collaborating with HR and recruiting teams to identify, attract, and retain top technical talent, ensuring the development teams have the necessary skills and diversity to succeed.

To achieve these objectives, you will work closely with the Director of Delivery and Engineering and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive technical excellence and support business growth.
