Backend Development PHP Expertise – You bring 5+ years of commercial experience working with PHP (7 or higher), and feel confident designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems at scale. Clean, Scalable Code – You write clean, testable, and maintainable code, and are comfortable using tools like Git, PHPUnit, PHPStan, and CSFixer. Database Skills – You’re fluent in relational databases like PostgreSQL, and know how to design performant schemas, write efficient queries, and manage migrations.  Software Engineering Principles Architecture & Design – You apply SOLID principles, design patterns, and understand how to structure scalable, modular systems in a product context. API Design – You have experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, and know how to collaborate with frontend and mobile teams on API contracts. Leadership & Collaboration Team Collaboration – You’ve worked in cross-functional product teams (e.g., with frontend, mobile, UX/UI, QA), and understand how to deliver end-to-end product features. Mentoring & Code Quality – You enjoy supporting other engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and raising the bar for engineering quality. Ownership Mentality – You take initiative, seek solutions—not just tasks—and are comfortable making architectural decisions and trade-offs. English Proficiency – You can read and write technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and communicate effectively with team members across roles and locations. Tech Leadership  You have experience as a Tech Lead and you’re able to: Coordinate technical efforts within a product team and clients. Ensure effective delivery aligned with product and technical goals. Support estimation, planning, and technical decision-making. We’d Be Excited If You Also Bring Experience with Kubernetes, React, or Flutter. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
