Academic Research Position at the Department of Molecular Biology and Radiobiology, Faculty of AgriScience
Research area: molecular plant biology
The Department of Molecular Biology and Radiobiology focuses primarily on studying the molecular basis of interaction between plants and their environment. We examine interactions with both abiotic and biotic factors and utilize a wide range of "omic" approaches. Over the long term, we have achieved national and international excellence in these areas, which can be documented both in terms of the projects we have undertaken and primarily through scientific publications.
What will your job responsibilities be?
- ensuring and developing research within the direction of the institute and closely linking it to teaching molecular biology subjects, particularly in the areas of molecular biology and plant biotechnology
- supervising, consulting, and evaluating students' final theses
- developing educational, scientific research, and creative activities in the field
- actively participating in the implementation of research projects and grants
- publishing results in professional and scientific journals as well as presenting at conferences and seminars
What do we expect from you?
- master's degree in molecular biology or a related field, completed or ongoing Ph.D. studies
- fluency in the Czech language at a native speaker level and English language proficiency at C2 level
- experience in teaching in both Czech and English
- experience supervising students' final theses at least as a consultant
- active participation in scientific projects
- publication activity in the relevant scientific field evidenced by at least one publication in D1 journals and at least three publications (D1/Q1) as the first or corresponding author, with an h-index of at least 6
What research experience do we require?
- education and experience in the field of molecular plant biology, knowledge of omic analyses, and plant signaling pathways
- experience supervising final theses at least at the high school research competition level
What additional skills would be appreciated?
- Ph.D. in the field and knowledge in bioinformatics and data processing
