Teaching and Research area: anatomy, histology of animals, and zoohygiene in animal husbandry
The department provides education in the areas of animal morphology and physiology, cell biology, immunology, zoohygiene, disease prevention, and animal genetics. For teaching, it has at its disposal a histology classroom, an autopsy room, a collection of permanent anatomical preparations, a skeleton collection, and several laboratories. Research focuses on the immune system of bovine mammary glands, the study of osteoblasts, wound healing, the internal environment of animals, gene expression related to utility, as well as the study of microsatellites, genetic diversity of animals, and diseases of bovine limbs.
What will be your responsibilities?
- conducting lectures, exercises, and excursions in fields related to anatomy, histology of animals, and zoohygiene in animal husbandry
- collaboration on lectures in Czech and English
- supervising, consulting, and reviewing students' final theses
- developing educational and scientific research activities in the given field
- actively participating in research projects and grants
- publishing results in professional and scientific journals and contributing to conferences and seminars
What do we expect from you?
- master's/doctoral degree in the field of Zootechnics
- excellent knowledge of Czech and English (ability to teach and produce publications)
- knowledge of laboratory work, practical skills and experience with methods of isolating and culturing cell populations, immunocytochemistry analysis, flow cytometry, biochemical analyses of body fluids, hematological and histological analyses, nucleic acid isolation analyses, PCR, and RT PCR
- active participation in scientific projects
- publication activity
