Benefits Intern
The Red Hat Global Benefits Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support a wide range of benefits-related projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of employee benefits, working alongside experienced professionals in a global environment. The ideal candidate is a proactive learner with strong analytical and communication skills.
At Red Hat, you'll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you'll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it's also about commitment and follow-through.
Red Hat's Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is February 1st.
What You Will Do
As a Benefits Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to key projects and learn about the core functions of a global benefits team. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the program management of leave and absence programs, including statutory and company leaves. You will help with data analysis, documentation, project support, and responding to associate inquiries.
Support the design and implementation of regional and country-specific benefits programs and portfolios, consistent with Red Hat's overall rewards philosophy and People strategy.
Support the implementation of a global benefits platform, including performing user acceptance testing (UAT).
Vendor Management: Learning about the process of managing relationships with benefits vendors. You will assist in organising vendor information and supporting new vendor onboarding.
Review and update the supplier contracts inventory, requesting new documents where needed and supporting the signature process.
Contribute to the development and distribution of benefits-related communications for associates. This will involve drafting content, proofreading materials, and helping to update our internal benefits information.
Partner with our People Service Delivery team to support the development and implementation of efficient and scalable delivery processes.
Supporting the team in collecting and analysing benefits market data to assist with benchmarking and market trend analysis. You will help organise data and prepare reports to inform our benefits strategy.
What you will bring
You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor's 3rd/4th year or Master's) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
An interest in Employee Benefits and Human Resources.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your account), and extracurricular activities. Incomplete applications may be excluded from screening. You can find helpful tips and recommendations in this article.
