As the International Business Development Manager, you will play a central role in strengthening our sales development activities, expanding our market reach, and building strong commercial foundations across EMEIA. Your work will focus on developing new business opportunities, strengthening specification alignment, enabling data-driven sales, and driving collaboration across the wider ASSA ABLOY Group.
You will work closely with international commercial teams, specification teams, product specialists, marketing, and divisional leaders to ensure consistent commercial execution, develop business cases, and support the launch of new products and initiatives. You will also contribute to the development of cross-divisional engagement models, key account collaboration, and the continued improvement of our sales excellence programme.
Key responsibilities
- Drive international sales development initiatives to support growth across the Door Business Segment and strengthen commercial execution across EMEIA.
- Lead the alignment with specification teams across the region, ensuring coordinated go-to-market approaches, shared insight, and unified target customer strategies.
- Identify target verticals and growth opportunities, preparing detailed business cases, value propositions and market entry plans.
- Strengthen intragroup collaboration, defining service level agreements, cross-division collaboration models, and supporting shared key accounts.
- Drive data-driven sales processes, ensuring effective adoption of CRM (Microsoft Dynamics), improving data quality, and embedding strong governance and reporting disciplines.
- Lead and coordinate the Full Potential working groups, ensuring clear actions, measurable outcomes, and alignment with commercial objectives.
- Support product development and product launches, providing market insight, competitive analysis and preparing commercial readiness activities.
- Drive the sales and commercial excellence programme, including development of sales playbooks, capability-building initiatives, sales training, and the rollout of key commercial tools.
- Conduct market research to analyse global and regional trends, understand regulatory landscapes, and identify new market opportunities.
- Develop and support lead generation and pipeline-building activities, building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support contract management and cross-border commercial coordination.
- Provide regular reporting and insights for senior management, including forecasts, competitor analysis and updates on international business performance.
What you bring to the role
- Minimum 10 years of experience in international business development, sales or commercial roles, ideally within technical B2B environments or the construction industry
- Strong strategic and analytical skills, with proven ability to build robust business cases and market assessments
- Experience working across multiple countries, with strong cross-cultural awareness and emotional intelligence
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to influence, coordinate and lead stakeholders in a matrix organisation
- Strong sales and presentation abilities, with experience supporting high-value projects or key accounts
- Proficiency in market research, business analysis and CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Strong planning, organisational and project management skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business, engineering or a related field
- Fluency in additional European languages is an advantage
