- Work on electric machine technology performing thermal optimization of inverter for Student Formula Car
- Optimize and improve the thermal design and perform thermal simulation (FEA or Conjugate Heat Transfer)
- Work as a team with the E-machine and inverter designer and mechanical designer to develop the Inverter from concept to design optimization
- The project will require benchmarking of technologies, concept geometries, exotic features & suppliers as you work with the Student Formula car teams to optimize the system to fit their needs
- Interact with subject matter experts in systems, power electronics, eMachine control, mechanical integration and thermal simulation
- Exposure to business products and processes that drive next generation technology
- Opportunity to innovate, create and drive a project from start to finish, taking ownership and finding solutions to meet overall goals
Desirable BACKGROUND
- Student in last year (of Masters) of Engineering degree in Mechanical / Thermal / Mechatronics
- Have taken courses in thermal analysis & fluid mechanics
- Good knowledge of thermal modelling (Thermal Network Models, FEA, CFD, CHT), & experience with related tools (ANSYS CFX, Fluent…).
- Understanding of electronic motor and inverter design & cooling
- Understanding of programming languages e.g. Python, VBA
- Self-motivated, flexible, independent
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English
- Duration: 5-6months
