Ventrata is currently looking for the first Legal Counsel in the company. Are you ready to take the lead on complex legal matters in a fast-moving tech environment? If you're passionate about technology and you're confident owning diverse legal topics, this role could be the next big step in your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Negotiation & Management: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (e.g., SaaS, licensing, partnerships). Maintain scalable contract templates and streamline negotiation processes.
  • Employment Law: Provide legal advice on employment matters across jurisdictions, including disputes and regulatory compliance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with UK and international laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and export controls. Identify and mitigate global regulatory risks.
  • Data Protection & Privacy: Lead data privacy compliance, develop policies, and advise on GDPR and global data protection.
  • Intellectual Property: Manage trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Protect proprietary technology and software.
  • External Counsel & Training: Oversee external legal advisors and provide internal training on key regulatory changes.
  • Sales Support: Support large enterprise sales deals to ensure compliance during negotiations and execution.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with 7+ years of PQE, ideally in the SaaS or technology sector.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Strong experience handling labor law preferably in the Czech Republic, UK.
  • Solid knowledge of UK and international laws (GDPR, IP, and employment law).
  • Proven ability to manage diverse legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts to non-legal teams.
  • Experience with global operations and cross-border legal issues.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of software licensing and subscription services.
  • Based in the Czech Republic.
