We are a values-driven team where names are known, results are rewarded, and friendships are formed. Trust, accountability, relentlessness, ingenuity, and OneSentinel define the pillars of our collaborative and unified global culture. We're looking for people that will drive team success and collaboration across SentinelOne. If you're enthusiastic about innovative approaches to problem-solving, we would love to speak with you about joining our team
What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced Manager, Infrastructure Engineering, to lead our Cloud Infrastracture team. This pivotal team is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational excellence of our core cloud infrastructure. You will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, performance and cost effectiveness of critical infrastracture components that power SentinelOne's global platform.
This role combines strong technical leadership with people management, fostering a high-performance team that builds and maintains foundational services for our entire engineering organization.
What you'll do:
- Lead and Mentor: Manage, coach, and develop a team of highly skilled infrastructure engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strategic Vision: Define and execute the roadmap for SentinelOne's infrastructure, aligning it with the company's overall goals and product requirements.
- Architect and Design: Oversee the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and resilient infrastructure services across our multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure). Define the roadmap and vision of component evolution.
- Operational Excellence: Manage the reliability, availability, performance, cost, and security of infrastructure. Work with the team to define and monitor SLOs, participate in managerial on-call rotations, and drive post-mortem analysis to implement lasting improvements. Ensure day-to-day operations' stability and excellence.
- Automation and Tooling: Champion an "Infrastructure as Code" philosophy, leveraging IAC/GitOps tools (like Terraform/ArgoCD) to automate provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks, reducing toil and increasing efficiency. Drive and explore opportunities to reduce operational overhead by implementing automation and AI integration, which would help the team grow.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product engineering teams, SRE, and other infrastructure teams to understand their requirements, provide expert guidance on data streaming and caching best practices, and facilitate seamless adoption of core components.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously optimize infrastructure services configurations, resource utilization, and underlying infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness at massive scale.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Lead the swift and effective resolution of complex technical incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous system integrity.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in distributed messaging and caching systems, evaluating and recommending adoption where beneficial.
- Documentation: Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership/management role of an infrastructure or SRE team.
- Ability to manage distributed teams and define clear roadmaps
Experience in Scrum/Agile-driven teams management. Sprint/Quarter planning, Priority assignment, and day-to-day operations. Experience with Jira is mandatory.
- Expertise in managing Kubernetes infrastructure (preferably on large-scale): hands-on experience designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters in production environments. Good understanding of Kubernetes core principles
- Cloud Expertise: Experience building and operating business-critical infrastructure services in at least one major public cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Understanding of Terraform for managing infrastructure resources. Experience with other IaC tools like Pulumi is a plus.
- Observability: Practical experience building and operating modern monitoring, logging, and alerting stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Distributed Systems Knowledge: Solid understanding of distributed systems principles, data consistency, and fault tolerance.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: A strong commitment to enabling other engineering teams and ensuring their success through reliable and performant infrastructure.
Bonus Points:
- Expertise in Data streaming infrastructure services (Kafka, Redis).
- Experience with other messaging systems or data stores (e.g., Pulsar, Cassandra, ClickHouse).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
