Automation Development Specialist

As an Automation Development Specialist, you will join our rising EMEA location in Prague and work closely with our globally acting automation team members from Germany, India & Mexico.

We are looking for a skilled professional to support the automation team in developing workflows and scripts that can later be executed on operating system level and SAP's upcoming cloud platforms. Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing and modifying scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Working with GitHub as our source code management tool
  • Becoming a contributor for CI/CD topics and getting familiar with Jenkins pipelines, Groovy code, and REST API development
  • Learning how SAP LAMA works to use it for the execution of scripts and libraries
  • Helping the team automate recurring manual operational tasks into script-based workflows
  • Getting familiar with SAP BTP to make use of its potential for automation
  • Making use of remote APIs offered by IAAS cloud providers like Microsoft Azure
  • Deepening and using scripting knowledge on Linux OS
  • Making use of the team's "Automation Ninja" course learning journey
  • Working agile in a motivated global team using Jira and Kanban Methodology
  • Good documentation of code

As a successful candidate, you will bring:

  • Object-oriented programming and scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Understanding of source code management with GitHub
  • Knowledge about CI/CD concepts and the usage of DevOps tools for automated code testing, e.g., with Jenkins and Groovy
  • Experience with Linux OS and provisioning of scripts that run on Linux
  • Usage and implementation of APIs in self-written scripts
  • Interest in learning about and working with SAP BTP and SAP LAMA
  • Ability to work in an international, virtual team and act as a team player
  • Constant readiness to dive self-motivated into new technologies and automation topics

Optional experience with Docker is a plus.
