We are seeking a seasoned Financial Operations Specialist to join our dynamic Finance team in Prague. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional service to our stakeholders.

About the Role

As a Senior Finance Specialist, you will be working closely with our Region EU Finance Director and Accountants/Controllers in Prague and Basel, as well as other internal stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure high-quality execution and delivery of accounting tasks related to our European affiliates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in regular closure activities, supporting the accounting team in meeting deadlines
  • Review and follow up on monthly account reconciliations performed by Accountants
  • Review closure-related deliverables performed by Accountants before submission to the Group
  • Collaborate with Accountants and the Finance Director to provide explanations for posted transactions, resolve differences arising from intercompany reconciliations, and address related issues as needed
  • Offer consultations and assessments on accounting treatments to ensure compliance with local GAAP and Group reporting manual
  • Coach and share knowledge with Accountants regarding accounting treatments, Group accounting methodology, and processes
  • Participate in approval processes related to AP, payments, and other financial operations
  • Prepare complex postings and provide supporting calculations
  • Cooperate with external accountants on preparation of monthly closures, annual financial statements, annual reports, and tax returns
  • Collaborate with auditors
  • Streamline and enhance efficiency of internal accounting processes
  • Report status of tasks and related issues to Finance Director and cooperate on mitigation activities
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks based on instructions from Finance Director
About You

  • Past audit experience from one of the Big4 companies (at least 3-4 years)
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, with basic knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Experience with internal ERPs (preferably MS Dynamics 365, Finance Operations)
  • Experienced user of Excel (vlookup, pivot tables...)
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to understand processes, draft suggestions, and communicate them clearly
  • Experience with knowledge sharing and coaching of other team members
  • Self-driven organized personality with high sense of responsibility
  • Pro-active detail-oriented person with analytical mindset
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Friendly to work in a multinational environment
