About This Role

We're seeking a seasoned professional to lead our database initiatives and ensure seamless data management.

Responsibilities:
  • Data Architecture and Design: Develop and implement robust database schema, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Database Environment Setup and Maintenance: Configure, deploy, and manage databases across various environments, including new deployments and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Continuously monitor database performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize data consumers' experience.
  • Collaboration and Guidance: Work closely with engineering teams to inform database design decisions and provide expert guidance on best practices for database interaction and performance.
  • Automation and Scripting: Design and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline routine tasks and improve database efficiency.
Requirements:
  • SaaS Experience: Proven expertise in designing and deploying SaaS-based solutions.
  • Cloud Experience: Proficiency in cloud platforms, including AWS RDS, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • High Availability and Security: Strong understanding of high availability and security principles, with the ability to apply them to database design and implementation.
  • NoSQL Databases and Data Engineering: Familiarity with NoSQL databases and data engineering principles, including data modeling and querying.
  • Scripting Languages and Tools: Experience with scripting languages like Python and AWS CLI or Lambda.
  • Database Monitoring and Alerting: Proficiency with database monitoring and alerting tools, such as CloudWatch and Datadog.
  • IaC Tools: Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation.
