TMS Manager (Freelance) – Central & Eastern Europe

Location: Regional (Poland, Hungary, Romania, Czechia) – Weekly travel to Prague required

Contract Type: Freelance / Interim

Client: Leading 3PL Provider

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced TMS Manager to oversee Transportation Management System (TMS) operations across Poland, Hungary, Romania, and Czechia for a leading 3PL client. This is a hands-on position that combines technical expertise, regional leadership, and system optimization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for TMS configuration, support, and enhancements, while managing a team of 7 consultants across the region. Regular collaboration with local operations teams and IT stakeholders will be essential, with weekly travel to Prague required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support TMS platforms (CarLo TMS primarily; experience with Blue Yonder, SAP TM, OTM, or similar Tier 1 systems is also acceptable).
  • Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Drive system improvements, integrations, and optimization aligned with business needs.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 7 consultants, providing guidance, direction, and escalation support.
  • Act as a bridge between local operations, IT, and global teams, ensuring alignment and smooth execution of logistics processes.
  • Support change management, training, and adoption of TMS functionalities across the region.
  • Monitor KPIs, compliance, and system usage, proposing improvements for efficiency and service quality.
  • Travel regularly to Prague (minimum once per week) for stakeholder and team engagement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in TMS management within a 3PL or logistics environment.
  • Hands-on expertise in TMS configuration and support.
  • Experience with CarLo TMS strongly preferred; knowledge of other Tier 1 systems (Blue Yonder, SAP TM, OTM) considered a strong asset.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing regional or multi-country teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the region, particularly to Prague.
  • Fluent in English (additional Central/Eastern European languages an advantage).
