Technical Lead Platform Reliability

Join our DevOps & Infrastructure team as the Lead Platform Reliability & Integrations Engineer. This isn't a generic "DevOps" opening, it's a hands-on, high-impact role at the intersection of site reliability, data platform operations, and systems integration. You'll act as a technical lead (no direct people management), shaping innovation and product direction for our platform capabilities and tooling.

Expect to evaluate and run PoCs for new products/tools, propose replacements where they make sense, and present your recommendations to the team. We maintain a modern stack, keeping every technology we use on the latest supported releases. You'll own the health, scalability, and seamless integrations of our backend platform — data warehouses, metadata processing, orchestration workflows, and complex calculation services — so it all runs flawlessly at scale.

• Strategic Leadership: Influence architecture decisions and system design, guiding technical direction to support scalability, reliability, and maintainability
  

• Innovation & Product Direction: Identify opportunities to replace or introduce tools/products, lead PoCs to validate approaches and build clear technical/business cases.
  

• Deep Troubleshooting: Proactively identify system bottlenecks and complex issues, driving timely solutions and improvements.
  

• Observability & Automation: Level-up monitoring, alerting, and runbooks; expand IaC and repeatable automation to reduce toil and speed delivery.
  

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with DevOps, Data/Backend Engineering, and Product to streamline workflows, integrate solutions, and accelerate innovation.
  

• Stakeholder Communication: Clearly and effectively communicate complex technical information, aligning stakeholders and ensuring timely project delivery.

• Linux Expertise: Deep hands-on experience operating and tuning Linux systems in production.
  

• Learning Agility & Breadth: Broad systems view and a can-do approach—comfortable diving into unfamiliar codebases or languages and quickly getting productive in complex architectures.
  

• Leadership & Communication: ability to clearly articulate solutions and lead technical conversations across diverse teams.
  

• Cloud Fluency: Familiar with AWS and/or Azure (both are a plus, not a must).
  

• Tech Stack Familiarity: Any of Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Puppet, PostgreSQL, Vertica, MariaDB Galera, plus scripting or programming in Perl, Python, C, Erlang, or Java.
