The Accounts Payables Lead is a pivotal role designed to bridge the gap between team members and supervisory responsibilities, providing leadership and strategic oversight to part of the Accounts Payable (AP) team and processes. This role not only involves direct management of specific AP tasks but also serves as a preparatory stage for potential advancement to a Supervisor position. The Accounts Payables Lead will have direct reports and will be fully responsible for their team's performance, ensuring operational excellence and continuity in the Supervisor's absence.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Closing Activities: Participate in month-end activities, including accruals and reconciliations. Assist in preparing financial reports and meet deadlines.
  • Query Resolution: Lead the resolution of complex queries related to invoices and purchase orders, including discrepancies in delivery, pricing, or payments. Foster effective communication channels with suppliers and internal departments to clarify issues and ensure timely, strategic resolutions that support overall business objectives. Serves as first contact point for escalations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Independently lead communication with internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing and overseeing the entire Accounts Payable process from end to end. Maintain and strengthen stakeholder relationships through proactive and clear communication.
  • Collaborative Support: Serve as an expert in the AP field, teaching and mentoring colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge. Foster a collaborative environment within the team, ensuring seamless operations and providing strategic support during high-volume periods.
  • Innovative Project Leadership: Identify opportunities for improvement and develop comprehensive plans, independently leading projects from inception to completion. Present updates and outcomes to relevant audiences and senior management. Demonstrate strategic thinking and effective project management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership and Support: Actively engage in team activities, taking on additional responsibilities to support colleagues and manage workload efficiently. Serve as a backup for the AP Supervisor in their absence, covering the majority of AP activities and ensuring operational continuity. Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
  • Flexibility: Perform other duties as assigned, leveraging its capabilities to support the team and company objectives. Adapt to changing priorities and take on ad-hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a must

Preferred Work Experience: Proven experience in Accounts Payable or related financial roles.

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced MS Office skills, advanced Excel skills and the ability to analyze and manipulate large datasets.
  • Proficiency in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmen
  • Familiarity with PowerBI, RPA, VPA, PowerAutomate or PowerApps is a must
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and project management skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently Benefits:
