Purpose of the job

The Junior Industrial Designer will plan, design, develop, and document industrial, commercial, or consumer products for manufacture, with particular emphasis on ergonomic (human) factors, marketing considerations, and manufacturability. They will prepare designs and specifications for products intended for mass or batch production.

Responsibilities

• Design points of sale following best practices, considering both marketing and commercial goals.

• Take ownership of design-based projects, collaborating with other designers and client marketing teams.

• Adhere to agreed Service Level Agreement

• Adapt artwork provided by the client to various formats for different proposals/solutions.

• Determine objectives and constraints of the design brief by consulting with clients and stakeholders.

• Conduct product research and analyze functional, commercial, cultural, and aesthetic requirements.

• Develop design concepts for industrial, commercial, and consumer products.

• Prepare sketches, diagrams, illustrations, plans, samples, and models to communicate design concepts.

• Negotiate design solutions with clients, management, sales, and manufacturing teams.

• Select, specify, and recommend functional and aesthetic materials, production methods, and finishes.

• Document the selected design for production.

• Supervise the preparation of patterns, programs, tooling, and the manufacturing process

Requirements

• Qualified Industrial Designer with excellent creative skills and understanding in print design; strong attention to detail is essential.

• Experience in industrial design within an advertising or design agency or internal studio.

• Knowledgeable in sustainable materials and processes.

• Capable of managing projects from design to prototyping.

• Experience in retail sector design is highly beneficial.

• Experience in scheduling design and artwork tasks is advantageous.

• Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign (including data merge). Knowledge in After Effect is a plus.

• Proficient in Rhino, V-Ray, and Cinema 4D software.

• Highly organized with a strong internal drive to meet goals and succeed.

• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-energy environments.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Able to follow best practices and suggest improvements where possible.

• Able to work quickly while maintaining high attention to detail.

• Professional proficiency in English and Czech is required.
