We are looking to appoint an interim People Operations Specialist (2-years contract) who will play a key role in driving continued growth through people programs, processes, policies, and practices that enable EPAM to attract, develop, engage, leverage, and retain talent in highly competitive markets in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. We are searching for a smart, competent, confident and hard-working professional who already proved himself/herself in a demanding role and had personal exposure to various aspects of people management.

The role would require work from the office in Prague and may involve travel to Slovakia. It is expected to work flexibly and on some occasions outside of normal office hours by prior arrangement and agreement and/or during peak periods. As a member of a the broader EPAM team, the People Operations Specialist must be open and willing to contribute and assist with additional tasks outside the HR department when required, if time allows.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary contact person for employees based in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, ensuring smooth and efficient onboarding (communication with new joiners and managers, onboarding paperwork, enrolment into payroll, benefits, mandatory training)
  • Manage employee benefits programs (administration, invoicing, payroll inputs, communication with vendors and employees)
  • Provide consultancy and adaptation support to new joiners, including country-specific information for relocated/foreign employees. Organize induction and buddy programs
  • Work closely with the talent mobility team on relocations and international assignments, supporting people relocating to the Czech Republic/Slovakia with cultural orientation, medical, tax, insurance, social security, and accommodation
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to employees and managers on local labor law and employment-related issues
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with employees, gather and analyze feedback through surveys, and implement actions to enhance engagement and retention
  • Efficiently manage and document HR processes and workforce changes leveraging people management tools and technologies
  • Coordinate and liaise with relevant departments (talent mobility, talent acquisition, office management, IT support, finance) to ensure smooth management of processes and a positive people experience
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for local labor law and HR regulations
  • Aid in developing and improving local employment-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and proper documentation
  • Help managers address people-related challenges effectively and proactively
  • Identify opportunities, resolve issues, and deliver innovative HR solutions aligned with company goals
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to promote collaboration and engagement
  • Assist with retention and motivation initiatives, as well as other People Team efforts outside the primary responsibility when needed
  • Drive EPAM's employer branding efforts to attract top talent in the local market

Requirements

  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a People Operations role
  • Solid knowledge of Czech employment rules and regulations, with Slovak labor law as a plus
  • Experience in HR processes management and employee communication in multi-national, multi-cultural environments, preferably within the technology or similar progressive industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies
  • Higher degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Passionate, energetic, and demonstrates a positive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Reliable, responsive, and client-focused problem solver
  • Able to build rapport, trust, and confidence with stakeholders while promoting transparency and an open culture
  • Takes initiative, works independently, and manages workload and priorities under time pressure
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills
  • Flexible, agile, and adaptable to rapidly changing environments
  • Empathetic, with a genuine desire to help people, while maintaining strong professional relationships
  • Committed to continuous learning and improvement in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and collaborative mindset
  • Experience in supporting, developing, and supervising team members
  • Fluency in Czech and strong command of written and spoken English
