Core Responsibilities

  • Perform month end closing activities, prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger records and analysis for assigned accounting entities, all in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with group accounting policies and accounting rules
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations including supporting explanations and ensure follow up on outstanding balances and taking corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance to and maintenance of internal controls in accordance with the LEGO guidelines and local tax and accounting legislation.
  • Support in preparation of statistical reports
  • Support the Team Leaders and EMEA Controllers with ad hoc projects
  • Consistently adheres to company guidelines and policies
  • Support all audit-related activities including internal audits, statutory audits, tax audits

The LEGO Business Service Operations (BSO) is a shared service center that delivers HR and Finance services to the entire LEGO Group from three global locations.

The GL department supports The LEGO Group with consistent, high quality and customer oriented execution of GL processes and stakeholder management, and thereby enables the BSO to succeed in delivering great value to the LEGO organization.

The Accountant plays an important role in developing the best in class GL department within the BSO. We need individuals eager to engage actively in shaping and strengthening a strong department, valuing collaboration, process excellence, quality and fun in the everyday life.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Demonstrated professional working experience, preferably in a related financial role or a position where capabilities are transferable
  • Analytical, detail - and high-quality oriented
  • Be robust, resilient and ability to embrace changes, as well as having a proactive mind with a can-do attitude.
  • Personal drive and initiative, excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with assigned business areas or other key partners
  • SAP experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Office at experienced level
  • Strong written and spoken English, additional languages are an advantage
